say what you want about NOFX, but they have been around for a long time, over 20 years in the game and they are still making records. personally, i grew up on these dudes. i had ribbed, s&m airlines, white trash, two heebs and a bean, punk in drublic, the longest line and heavy petting zoo all on cassette. i still have them all tucked away in a box somewhere. now i have them all on my ipod, along with a lot of stuff from comps and 7 inches, but regardless. these dudes have been at it for years, and tons of bands still continue to rip them off. you gotta respect them for the ground that they laid for all these shitty "punk" bands that are out now. and not for nothing, but fat mike is fucking hilarious.
you might have heard about this danish newspaper a few years back.. they made some kind of cartoon that made fun of mohammed or some shit and it had all the muslim world up in arms. after this, these same cartoons were re-printed in a french magazine called charlie hebdo, which, in turn, re-fueled the scandal. This magazine is not a stranger to scandal, and is actually the successor of a previous french magazine in the 1960s which was known for its scandalous covers and was eventually banned for sale to minors and publicity.
recently, they cut off myspace, facebook and youtube from the internet at my job. so instead of watching stupid videos and lurking through the sewers of online social networking sites, i've been digging up some treats. its actually refreshing because i was getting real sick of people with their stupid angle shots and close-ups so they don't look fat. myspace surveys. stupid guido kissy faces and peace signs. shitty ass bitches and dudes. friend requests from dozens of shitty clothing companies who see me on the division east page. now i'm actually looking at some cool shit and getting motivated to start spitting hot fire into the streets.
first up is influenza. some street art/graffiti crew from holland. ill shit:
