nasty.

this weekend is memorial day weekend. yet another amateur holiday. a lot of people will be camping. a lot of people will be having bbqs. a lot of people will be down the shore. maybe the bubonic plague will be released in seaside and belmar and wipe out a substantial portion of new jersey's guido population. we can only hope. anyways, i have to work on sunday, so i really can't go away. it's all good though.

this weekend i will be dog-sitting. rather, wolf-sitting. i am one of a select group of people who can come near this beast. if you aren't familiar, i will be living with this animal for the next few days:

holler at me if you wanna meet him. he's a sweetheart. and he's the size of a small pony.

not quite sure what tomorrow will hold, but saturday come down to jannson's rootin' tootin' recession bbq. bring your own booze, food, plates, napkins, silverware, table and chairs. festivities start at 6pm. after that, big show at halligan's in west orange featuring the likes of shape, tmfse and pistol pete to name a few. that should be nuts.

on a side note, i hope that bubonic plague for the guidos also wipes out these wastes of flesh, who are equally as horrible:

but i doubt we would get that lucky. what ever happened to masculinity? these fucking kids make me sick.

but i digress. anyway, i stumbled onto these cool illustrations today. they were done by some dude named yasushi torisawa. modern renditions of godzilla villains. pretty dope.

you can check out a few more here.

i found these gems at a funny website called whythefuckdoyouhaveakid.com:

looks like we have a lot to look forward to.

things are shaping up nicely in the division east warehouse:

note the very last item.

and lastly just a few goodies i found along the way in my online travels this week:

i plan on taking a lot of ridiculous pictures this weekend. well, if i don't get too wasted. we shall see. if you're not going away hit me up and let's get stupid.

free is for me.

tell me about a party with free food or free booze and i am there. and not that i'm cheap, but what the fuck. why not? anyways, if you like hip-hop music, i'm about to bless you with a bunch of free music courtesy of division east records and slangcorp. if you don't like hip-hop that's fine too. hopefully we will have some free punk and metal downloads available soon. and if you're expecting to hear some fake gangsters talking about shit they pretend to own, then just turn around now, because this is real hip-hop. dirty jersey style. no corporate-sponsored commercial MTV bullshit.

everything here is available on the DE records blog or at the slangcorp website, but i'm going to make it super convenient for you to just download them here. just click the flicks to download.

there is always new stuff coming out and there are tons of shows going on, especially now that it's summer time. if you like what you hear, come out and support the artists. support the underground. for upcoming events and shows, check back here, or check the division east records blog. also check out the myspace. we do big things. come do them with us.

mid-june will the GDP & Daniel Joseph 2009 tour kickoff jam at the DE warehouse. There will be a flyer circulating in the near future. that one's gonna be ridiculous so stay tuned.

timewarp.

most weekends, i usually hit the flux capacitor on overdrive from thursday night to sunday morning. this weekend was no different. my weekend began on thursday at 11pm and we kicked the jams at the den. friday night we got to see NJ DOTS who were just brutal. it was kinda funny. i caught a little bit of one of the earlier bands and they were some like singy/screamy wanna-be killswitch engage but even worse type band. when nj dots came on, rubes was in a ski mask and screaming like a corpse that had been awakened from a 500 year sleep. the kids in the crowd had no idea what to do with something this heavy. rumor has it they will be playing the next DE warehouse jam.. but you didn't hear that from me.

anyways, some kid was dancing around like he was at the warped tour or some gay ass shit and i'm pretty sure he got hit a few times and dragged out of there. i know i kicked him in the small of his back at least 3 times. i also threw some kid into the center monitor so hard that it got knocked back a foot or two. the look on dude's face was priceless. he didn't come in my direction again. my brother danced, jannson did cartwheels and johnny d. did the robot. it ruled.

as if that wasn't enough, we got invited to my dude kyle's first communion party on saturday afternoon. check out the pimp in his suit. of course there was a ton of booze there and we were drinking heavy way before dinner time.

after the party a few people came by and we made margaritas in the blender.

yeah i'm a dick. whatever.

then we went to the green room for shape's record release party. you can download the album for free here. a bunch of good MCs played and kept the crowd hyped. i spent a lot of money on booze. random appearances by gdp, madden, pete august and pistol pete ruled.

shape's set was ridiculous

we hit dingo's for a hot minute, scooped some people and hit up the tower for the late night jam.

(tobacco, of course)

i hit the sack around 7am and woke up today to be a productive member of society. i'm outta work at 10. let's keep this party going.
